Zakayo Zakaria, the founder of CoastClean Tanzania, is a research fellow at the Economic and Social Research Foundation. He is a PhD student in Economics at the University of Dar es Salaam. 

Athena is a graduate of Lafayette College and a co-founder of CoastClean Tanzania. She is a Naturalist and History Educator at Liberty State Park in Jersey City.

Mother-son duo Julie Groves and Dylan W. Groves are co-founders of CoastClean Tanzania. Julie Groves is the founder of Therapy In Your Home. She is an OT, PT, ST and Health, Wellness and Fitness Consultant. Dylan W. Groves is a professor of Government & Law at Lafayette College and leads the Lafayette College Global Media Lab

Marco is an associate and participant with CoastClean Tanzania. He is a PhD student in Political Science at Northern Illinois University.

Jadelyn is CoastClean Tanzania’s 2026 summer intern. She is a rising senior at Lafayette College double majoring in Government & Law and English with a concentration in literature.

Teresia is an associate and participant with CoastClean Tanzania. She is an economist passionate about transforming lives through evidence based research and data driven insights.

Dorothy is an associate and participant with CoastClean Tanzania. She is an Assistant Consultant at Oxford Policy Management.
